TOUGEN ANKI: Legend of the Cursed Blood revealed the second key visual and trailer featuring the opening song, along with an additional cast member. The anime adaptation was announced in May, revealing numerous visuals in the following months to feature the main cast. Today’s announcement was made at the ongoing AnimeJapan 2025 event.
The voice cast addition is Ryohei Kimura as Kyoya Oiranzaka, and you can see the two below.
Ato Nonaka is directing at Studio HIBARI. The new trailer features the opening theme song “OVERNIGHT” by THE ORAL CIGARETTES. You can watch it below.
Takuya Yamanaka from THE ORAL CIGARETTES commented on their collaboration with TOUGEN ANKI:
I’m very honored to be performing the opening theme for TOUGEN ANKI! In this song, I tried to capture the spirit of the protagonist, who continues to uphold justice even when he’s far from his ideal self. I believe his circumstances are something many people can relate to in everyday life. Rather than living in regret thinking, “I wish I could’ve been more like this…,” my hope is that this song will give someone the push they need. I’m also really looking forward to the anime myself, and I hope everyone will enjoy both the song and the show!

Yura Urushibara writes and draws the TOUGEN ANKI manga, which has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine since June 2020. There are 21 published volumes as of September 6. Volume 22 is set to release tomorrow, January 8. Yen Press began publishing the manga in English in September 2024.
The story follows Shiki Ichinose, an Oni, who is raised by a Momotaro father. Those with Momotaro blood are generally hunting those with Oni blood, but Shiki was raised by a supposed enemy despite his rather angry characteristics. Upon losing his father, Shiki gets into a situation where he has to learn to control his power as he tries to learn more about the whole situation and get his revenge.
