Earlier this month, Days with My Stepsister author Ghost Mikawa announced the launch of new ASMR works inspired by the series. Mikawa was fully involved in their production.
In the first of two releases, listeners take the perspective of the series’ main character, Yuta Asamura, who encounters Saki Ayase (voiced by her anime voice actor Yuki Nakashima) in numerous situations, including ear cleaning, sleeping next to each other, and other forms of close contact. The Days with My Stepsister ASMR (Saki Ayase ver.) will be set after the events of Season 1 and released on Children’s Day in Japan (May 5).

Saki’s mother, Akiko Ayase (voiced by her anime voice actor Reina Ueda), will also receive an ASMR recording. By taking the perspective of Yuta’s father, Taichi, fans get an intimate view into the parents’ conversations and views, where Akiko’s “true nature” will be revealed. Encounters include waking up and breakfast, shampoo time, ear cleaning, sleeping next to each other, making cocktails, and drinking together. Akiko’s voicebank arrives on Mother’s Day (May 11) and currently is the only one available for preorder (via DLSite). Saki’s should become available here soon. They’re both around 80 minutes long.

The Days with My Stepsister ASMR releases are the first of the new MELLOWVOICE brand launched by Talepot Inc., the company that produces and manages the Days With My Stepsister YouTube channel. Mikawa is an executive of Talepot and outlined his long-held aspirations for ASMR as a means of expanding character content.
He adds, “This time, the Days with My Stepsister ASMR was produced through the TV anime production committee,” and hopes to produce high-quality ASMR works of other titles, not just his own. “I already have several projects in the works, and I intend to increase the number of works, so we look forward to your continued support of MELLOWVOICE (@MELLOWVOICE_OFF)!“

This was the second of Mikawa’s two major announcements teased on April 1; the first was Talepot’s formation of the social media anime production brand, HAPPY JACK, which launched its first series, Doumanbu!, last week.
Many hoped Mikawa’s announcements would involve a sequel to the anime series. Mikawa clarified that “no such decision” regarding a Days with My Stepsister sequel has been made yet, and his company doesn’t have the power to do so. Studio DEEN was responsible for Season 1’s animation production. Crunchyroll streamed the series, describing it:
When his father remarries, Yuta Asamura winds up sharing a roof with his new stepsister, Saki Ayase, the hottest girl in his grade. Carrying the scars of their parents’ troubled divorces, they vow to maintain a respectful distance. But what starts as cautious camaraderie blossoms into something deeper from shared experiences. Is it admiration, familial love, or something more?
