Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hinokami Chronicles 2 revealed the first character introduction trailer, featuring Tanjiro Kamado. The sequel game previously confirmed an August 1 launch for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The sequel will build on the previous title with new story content, a bigger character roster, and new gameplay mechanics.
The game will cover the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc and include all nine Hashira, the original 18 characters from the first game, demons from previous updates, and paid DLC characters from the Entertainment District Arc.
The new trailer features Tanjiro in action against Hantengu’s Zohakuten form, showing off some battle gameplay.
A new visual by ufotable and a second trailer were previously released, featuring Tanjiro Kamado and all of the nine playable Hashiras.

AnimeJapan 2025 Demo Preview
A PS5 demo version will be available at AnimeJapan 2025 on March 22-23, showing early access for the new features and characters. The playable demo will include:
- Serpent Hashira – Obanai Iguro
- Wind Hashira – Sanemi Shinazugawa
- Stone Hashira – Gyomei Himejima
2025 Summer Will Be Big for Demon Slayer Fans
The game follows the Mugen Train revival screening starting on May 9, 2025 in Japan, which will feature the film in 4K with remixed Dolby Atmos sound. It also precedes the release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, which will premiere in Japan on July 18, 2025.

Game Background
The first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles was developed by CyberConnect2 and released in October 2021. Aniplex published the game in Japan, while Sega handled the global release. Initially available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows, it later launched for Nintendo Switch in June 2022. The game has surpassed 4 million copies sold as of December 9, 2024.
The upcoming sequel builds on the original game while expanding the playable character roster and improving combat mechanics. More details on gameplay updates and additional content will be shared as the release date gets closer.
