After almost five years, Shintaro and Towa’s story ended as Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included released its last chapter on March 12. The eighth and final volume of the manga is scheduled to ship on April 12.
Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included Details
Written and illustrated by Matoba (stylized as matoba), Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included tells the story of Shintaro Tokumitsu’s odd life.
Apart from living alone due to his studies, Shintaro leads an unassumingly ordinary life. But that mundaneness is destroyed when he wakes up to a comely girl sleeping on his balcony. While perplexed as to how the sightly stranger climbed that high, he’s cordial with her and they strike up a conversation.
But once they begin to talk, Shinataro is surprised to find out that the girl before him is no ordinary waifu — she’s a bonafide angel! And since that angel (Towa) has nowhere to and runs into some issues after leaving his house, she’s going to bunk with him!
Unknown to Shintaro, his angelic meeting is the stepping stone to the high strangeness of the world. Soon enough, Shintaro encounters more cryptid waifus than Animal Planet’s Lost Tapes. From kappas to yuki-onnas and bocchinokos, Shintaro’s life becomes a magnet for the wild and the bizarre. Yet, despite that craziness — love starts to bloom.
Matoba wrote and illustrated the manga. Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan serialized Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included from September 2020 to March 2025. Yen Press publishes the English version of the manga.
Okuruto Noboru animated the Spring 2024 anime adaptation. The show was directed by Kenta Onishi. Shogo Yasukawa wrote the show’s scripts. Yuya Uetake worked on the anime’s character designs. The voice cast for the anime includes:
