The More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers manga has entered an indefinite hiatus ahead of its finale. The announcement came through separate X posts by the manga’s author, Yuki Kanamaru, and Kadokawa (its publisher).
The manga’s hiatus takes effect from the May issue of Kadokawa’s Young Ace, which releases on April 4. Kanamaru-sensei took to X to tell fans that the hiatus was necessary to provide a much more coherent and adequate conclusion to the story.
The More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers Info
Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine has serialized More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers since March 2018. As of this article, the manga boasts thirteen volumes. A Studio Mother anime adaptation aired as part of the 2022 Fall Anime season. The show’s production staff included:

Seishun Gakuin High School has quite an odd practical. In their third year, teachers randomly pair students and send them to live together in a marriage practical. This unusual practice provides an invaluable opportunity for Jiro Yakuni — as it provides him a chance to pair with his long-time crush and childhood friend, Shiori. Unfortunately for him, fate pairs him with the outgoing gyaru Akari Watanabe. Akari herself also laments the pairing, as she would have liked to end up with her crush, Minami Tenjin.
Luckily for them, there’s hope; the top ten-scored married couples can switch to partners of their liking should the other couples agree. Determined to pair with their loved ones, Akari and Jiro push themselves to become the top couple in their class. However, as they spend more time together, they find that their fake relationship slowly begins to blend with reality.
More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is streaming on Crunchyroll. Udon Entertainment publishes the English version of the manga.
