On March 27, 2025, CyberAgent-subsidiary Applibot Inc. released Chiikawa Pocket, the first smartphone app centered around the popular mascot character. The game launched in 43 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, and the United States, amassing over 2 million pre-registrations.

Per the press release, the game topped the free app rankings in four countries and regions, and by smashing the target 1.5 million pre-registrations, fans will have received gems, battle tickets, battle poles, useful in-game items like Hachiwara’s Sasumata, and much more; the chart for Chiikawa Pocket player rewards is here.
Meaning “something small and cute,” Chiikawa is described as centering “around the fun, bittersweet, and sometimes tough daily lives of the characters in its world. Beloved by children and adults, it has gained widespread popularity not only in Japan but also across the globe.
In Japan, it won the Grand Prix at both the 2022 and 2024 Japan Character Awards. Not only that, but with the Chiikawa anime airing since April 2022, its popularity has soared, solidifying its status as a cultural icon in Japan.” The anime recently went on a production break ahead of its return in July.
