Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time short movies project revealed a key visual for episode 1. The first part of the 6 short movies project is titled “Take it easy” and will be directed by Shingo Adachi. The visual was drawn by the character designer Imigimuru.
This short series will begin streaming on April 16th, with six episodes released weekly every Wednesday at 9 PM JST, available on platforms including ABEMA. While the project was announced previously as a ‘short movies’ project, it will be released weekly.
The staff for each of the short movies was previously revealed and includes:

A new anime project which was announced back in February 2023, and it seems that is not related to this project.
The story of Lycoris Recoil is an original work by Spider Lily (Kadokawa Corporation, Dentsu Entertainment, and Aniplex) and Asaura, who is credited for the original story. Studio A-1 Pictures was in charge of the animation. Following the incredible reception of the anime, the franchise announced both manga and light novel adaptations. The main cast in the anime included:
- Shion Wakayama as Takina Inoue
- Chika Anzai as Chisato Nishikigi
- Misaki Kuno as Kurumi
- Ami Koshimizu as Mizuki Nakahara
- Kosuke Sakaki as Mika
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Majima

This peaceful everyday life is all thanks to these young girls.

Alongside is Takina Inoue, the talented but mysterious Lycoris.
They work together at one of its branches–Café LycoReco.
Here, the orders this café takes range from coffee and sweets to childcare, shopping, teaching Japanese to foreign students, etc.
It’s mostly tasks unbefitting of Lycoris.
The free-spirited and optimistic pacifist, Chisato.
And the cool-headed and efficient Takina.
The chaotic everyday lives of this mismatched duo begin!
Lycoris Recoil was incredibly well recieved by fans. It was voted as the best anime of the Summer 2023 season, while Chisato was also voted as the best girl. Takina placed 3rd.
