WITCH WATCH anime hits theaters in North America today, and a new trailer was released previewing the ending theme song by Aooo. GKIDS is bringing the first 3 episodes to theaters with exclusive interviews from March 16 as WITCH WATCH: WATCH PARTY, while the TV version will be streaming on both Crunchyroll and Netflix from April 6.
The ending theme song is titled “Magic is the Spice,” and can watch the new trailer below.
The opening theme song “Watch me!” by YOASOBI was previously featured with a trailer. Studio Bibury Animation Studios (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Love You, The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2 and movie) is animating. Hiroshi Ikehata is directing the anime, with Masao Kawase as the assistant director. Deko Akao is in charge of the series composition and Haruko Iizuka is the character designer. The WITCH WATCH manga by Kenta Shinohara began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2021, with VIZ Media licensing it in English. VIZ describes the story:
Morihito Otogi’s family is descended from a long line of ogre familiars, and he has the inhuman strength to prove it. One day, his father comes to him with the life-changing news that he is to become the familiar of his childhood friend, the teenage witch Nico. He is to live under the same roof with her and protect her from anything and anyone that may attempt to harm her. Meanwhile, Nico is excited to get to live with the love of her life, even if her crush is one-sided—Morihito is so serious about his duties to protect her that any romance is going to be an uphill battle. But he has every reason to be serious, as Nico has a prophecy of doom hanging over her head!
