The multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, developed by Behaviour Interactive, is collaborating with the anime Tokyo Ghoul. As part of this collaboration, Ken Kaneki will be introduced as a playable Killer character.

Tokyo Ghoul x Dead by Daylight Collaboration Details

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric multiplayer game in which one player controls a Killer while four others play as Survivors attempting to escape. The collaboration chapter, titled Dead by Daylight|Tokyo Ghoul, will be released on April 3, 2025, across multiple platforms, including Steam. A public test build for the collaboration was made available on Steam on March 12 for a limited time.

Ken Kaneki as “The Ghoul”

Kaneki will be introduced as a Killer named “The Ghoul.” His character is designed with abilities referencing his portrayal in Tokyo Ghoul. His primary weapon is “The Ghoul’s Kagune Tentacles,” which allows him to move quickly and attack Survivors. His Kagune can also be used for a grab attack, enabling him to quickly catch Survivors. Additionally, dealing damage will trigger a Rage state, increasing his movement speed and strength.

Unique Killer Perks

Kaneki will have three exclusive perks in the game:

  • NONE ARE FREE – Hooking Survivors for the first time grants tokens. When all Generators are completed, each token temporarily blocks all windows and standing pallets, restricting escape routes.
  • HEX: NOTHING BUT MISERY – Inflicting damage on Survivors activates Hex Totems, temporarily hindering Survivors and making them easier to catch.
  • FOREVER ENTWINED – Every time Kaneki damages a Survivor, he gains a stacking bonus that increases the speed of picking up, dropping, and hooking Survivors.

Additional Content

A Tokyo Ghoul-themed in-game collection will also be released on April 3. It will include:

  • A Rize Kamishiro-themed outfit for Kaneki
  • Rabbit, Hide, and Eto-themed costumes for Survivors
  • Various masks and accessories
